Duc Thanh School

Duc Thanh School is located next to the Ca Ty River, Phan Thiet City in Binh Thuan Province. This is the place where President Ho Chi Minh lived for a while and there were a lot of memorable time since he used to take part in teaching. It is about 25 km from Kega Lighthouse Resort to get there.

After 1862, when three provinces of South Vietnam were invaded, a number of patriots had set up their businesses in the Central region, including the poet Nguyen Thong. On the way to find a place to set up the resistance against France base, he accidentally stopped at Phan Thiet to work then he fell ill and died here in 1884 and his wish was not fulfilled. In 1908, two students of him built a school which was named Duc Thanh under the auspices of Lien Thanh Association.

The school is hidden with ancient mangoes with a fairly simple architecture with an area of ​​120m2 connecting the precinct of Nguyen Thong church. The school yard is spacious with a rockery pool, the gate overlooking the Ca Ty River. In front of the schoolyard is a big old tree and it is a small lotus pond near the tree. The school was supported by the people by donating land to the school. At that time, the school was considered a progressive school with a reputation distinguished everywhere.
