According to researchers, the independent Kingdom of Champa was born in 192, over a thousand years of development, from flourishing to weakening in the 10th century. At its peak, the territory of Champa had nearly 200 thousand square kilometers, by 1832 the kingdom was completely annexed.
Ninh Thuan is currently the only province with a unit that performs the function of researching on Cham culture. The staff is well-trained and dedicated with extensive, advanced research, collection and storage activities to have many valuable works, promoting the values of Cham cultural heritage in social life, contributing to preserving and promoting the national culture of Vietnam in general.
From Kega Lighthouse Resort moved to Phan Rang city, this center is located at 28 To Hieu Street, Tan Tai Ward, less than 500m from Ninh Thuan Museum. Center for Research and Training of Cham Culture was established on January 19, 1993. It was later changed to Cham Cultural Research Center in Ninh Thuan Province. It is a unit with specific characteristics in the system of non-business units under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ninh Thuan, specializing in scientific research tasks on Cham culture in Asia.

The center also organizes and co-organizes exhibiting, thematic exhibits, itineraries to serve many Cham festivals, celebrations, and other festivals of ethnic groups inside and outside the province that were organized by Central and local organizations. The unit has been favored by antique collectors to donate artifacts on valuable Cham culture. Including these artifact collectors: Lam Du Thanh in Chau O, Quang Ngai; Diep Gia Tung in Hoi An city; Nguyen Ngoc An in Mui Ne, Phan Thiet; Nguyen Van May in Binh Thuan; Nguyen Duy Truong in Dalat; Thai Hung Lam in Dalat;
The center has also connected with Cham intellectual collectors and artists in Ninh Thuan such as: Truong Ton; Quang Van Dai; Kieu Van Manh; Ba Trung Phu; Phu Thi Thu; Nguyen Chi Son - Bookstore for Humanities ... The center currently has a system of reading rooms with over 1,200 copies of books and monographs for research. The raw materials currently stored are hundreds of thematic documents, including research materials on Cham culture in the province and neighboring provinces such as Binh Thuan, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen ... Besides, there are some specialized research topics on Raglai, Chu ru, K'ho, Cham H'roi culture ...
Every year, the Center is open to serve thousands of domestic and foreign visitors and researchers coming to study, research and look up materials to write thematic papers and theses; organize the teaching of Cham ethnic instruments, organize the contest to perform Cham - Raglai folk songs and compose songs throughout the province; co-organize the exhibition on the introduction of Cham culture with other ethnic groups.
